Stair climbing in pairs!

Come on Malayka, lets go for stair climbing, it is really good for coordination and muscle training, and that is what it is all about at the moment in our life, isn't it?

I show you, it is really not difficult, just up the arms first and then a knee and then the whole body!

Great Malayka, only one step left!
Oh, I see, there is no space left for you, Malayka! Just wait a second...

...and I move Castor a little bit away!

And here they are the proud stair case climbing winners Malayka and Ella!

And when it all was over, Ella went for it again, but this time fast track, so no cloth could be worn for this!

Happy Birthday to you Grandma Janet!

Dear Grandma Janet!
Here you can see me exercising to sing "Happy Birthday to you!" I am not yet quite there, but tomorrow on your birthday I will be brillant! Mama is singing to me every evening when I have to go to sleep, and it really works quite well! So I hope my birthday song will be good for you, too! Wishing you a beautiful spring day and all the very best for the next year to come. I wish you most that we can meet again, because I have grown and changed a hell of a lot since you visited us in Köniz last year!
Yours
Ella

Ella Tili Party Girl on Kempinski's Jetty!

These ladies wanted me to join their party, but as you can see, I was not so sure about this. They then proceeded to play "hiding" with me, which I liked a lot, until their boyfriends appeared, and said "enough is enough", or otherwise their girls would develop too much of an appetite for a baby like me! I cannot understand these men - what is there better than having a little girl like me, Papa?

Ella Tili's Best 23rd of March 2008

Playing at Kempinski

Papa, see for this exercise I wore shoes for the first time, and I did not fall down!
I then proceeded to study all the Kempinski documents, but they were real crap!
Brown bread rolls however I liked a lot!
And even better the baby level mirror...
... and the outdoor shower! There I could have stayed for ever!

Nonna's life west on one of the noblest beaches of Zanzibar - Nonna's Schwimmweste am Nobelstrand von Zanzibar

After I had a good drink...
Nachdem ich getrunken hatte...

and a long sleep...

und gut geschlafen...

I agreed to venture out into the Indian Ocean well wrapped into Nonna's lifewest...

bin ich mit Mama in den Indischen Ozean gesprungen, sicher in Nonna's Schwimmweste eingepackt...

...and as you can see it made me very happy!

...und war sehr glücklich!

However, the real test for the life west seemed to come a little later, when our speed boat had an engine failure on the way back to Dar es Salaam, and we started to turn in circles. Mama immediately pulled out my life west, and I was sure that if worse had come to worse, I would hav been safe in the life west! Some Zanzibari mothers were laughing at Mama, but I wonder if they even know how to swim!

Day 2 in Kempinski Zamani on Zanzibar

When I woke up in my hotel baby bed I immediately had to go for my standing exercises, and this little bed was really great, because I could fall without hurting myself. But Papa, it really was too small for me, I could not stretch out fully except when Mama put me diagonally. Next time I want the children bed, and no more baby bed.

When I was allowed in Mama's bed, I continued the exercises, as you can see, and then I woke up Mama, to go for an early mornig walk on the jetty, which was very beautiful, and we were all alone and I was wondering why other people do not get up for sunrise, Papa?

And then breakfast!

Breakfast was great, even though Mama said there were a lot of wasps inside the buffet, so I could not choose myself. But the banana with coconut sauce, porridge, cheese and mango she brought for me were delicious! Papa, I had no baby food at all, I ate like the adults!

Here I disagree with Adele, because I wanted waffers with chocolate, and first she said no.

Then I got at least some waffers, but no chocolate - it was good, but very unfair, I believe, Papa! Baby rights is really becoming my passion, as you can see!

But then I was happy with Adele again, because when I was not hungry any more, Adele took me back to the room for some "chill out" as she said, and I could choose the music! It was great dancing on her shoulders! Papa, you will have to dance with me, too, even though Mama says you are only considering it for the time being!

Arriving at Kempinski Zamani in Zanzibar

On the ferry from Dar to Stonetown Mama needed coffee very much because she had woken up at five (not because of me!!!) and put my car seat with me in the corridor of the boat. These women thought I was neclegted and they volunteered to play with me!

We had a very nice taxi driver and I could sit next to him in the front and Mama and Adele had to go on the bench in the rear!

But at Kempinski Zamani Hotel it came even better and I could drive an electrical car!

The best thing in our room is the bath tup. I can remove and also set back the plug, and I could stay forever. Mama wants me to go with her to the swimming pool or the sea, but I prefer the bath tup.

Mama also does not agree with my choice of toys - the more plastic there is the better I find it!

This is the toy Mama likes but I find it pretty boring! They all feel the same in my mouth!

However Mama is very interested in these bottles at the tip of the jetty....

... and even more in Papa and of course me! See, even when finally I slept and she had dinner with Adele they still worked on my blog! What I saw today will come soon!

A baby level mirror

Finally I found a baby level mirror! So when I play in the living room and all of a sudden decide that I want to see myself I quickly climb the stairs and crawl straight into the kitchen and turn to the stove front! Mama was very impressed when I showed her, but I will not tell her who showed me. She does not need to know everything, isn't it Papa? I will however show it to Castor as well, and explain to him that it is him and no strange dog he has to attack right away!

Big Smile to Kabul from the Lebanese in Dar

Obviously we let Adele order our menue, she is so good at it, even more as it is one of her favourite places! But best of all was a sweet kardamon flavured Turkish Coffee just as good as in legendary Graz! But at this moment in time Ella "a fait dodo" already and Mama could not explain the significance of Graz to her...time will come!

Sunday late afternoon swim 16. March 2008

My own cart!

I can now sit in the shopping cart in Shreejees! Mama brought me to the nappies and baby food, but actually I was a lot more interested in the shelves to my right, where all the nice South African wine is displayed. Mama says she cannot drink it at the moment, and is very disappointed about this, but I hope she will let me try when she can drink it again!

Ella's Tinga Tinga

Papa, we went to look at Tinga Tinga pictures for me last Saturday, in the Cooperative where you never have been (but I can show you now!). They had wonderful paintings with all the animals I have seen last week in Mikumi, and Baobab trees I saw from the road, but Mama said I should do the final choice with Papa when he will be back. I cannot wait for this! We should also find some door labels for my friends in Switzerland, and let write their names on them!

Ella training for the Eiger North Face

I think this goes without words. Ella climbs the two stairs with ease now, in order to meet with Castor personally, and now is working on returning back to the playing ground, head first for the time being...! In her recent climbing attemps she always carried her yellow hammer with her, I guess in order to train to carry the ice pick up Eiger North face!
