Although not even a month old, Ella embarked on her first foreign adventure travelling to Warszawa, followed shortly afterwards by a trip to London! Maybe following the footprints of her namesake Ella Maillard, her Grandfather Rudi is greatly proud of his Granddaughter holding a diplomatic passport already. Vakhtang in Tbilisi reminded us of taking good care of her while embarking on adventures at such an early age! We will do so.

Castor and Ella
Poor Castor. As well as managing his jealously towards Ella rather well, and us making all possible efforts not to let him feel short of devotion, he now also fiercly defends her from any other dog entering her sphere! We already had to separate him from our neighbour's as well as landlord's dogs, who he held by the scruff of their necks and showed no intention to let go! Ella however gets as a welcome a licking of both hands and then the back of her head! We already imagine the two of them walking off as an odd couple, he doing the smelling and she the looking, and both feeling that in fact they do not need us any more!

Ella Tili in Warszawa
Not even four weeks old, and Ella Tili could call a bright red Swiss Diplomatic passport her own already! For Papa's two week trip to the OSCE ODIHR conference in Warszawa we decided to travel the three of us together, and were rewarded with the newly renovated beautiful old town, great Vienna style Coffee Houses (we recommend lemon cheese cake with strawberry sauce at Blikles!) and fantastic food (we recommend pigs leg with sauerkraut at Podsalamona!). The journey across more than half of Poland, through endless plains and vast forests of bright autumn colours was great - and fast! We travelled in a day from Bern to Warszawa - even stopping for a German Wurst in Berlin!
On the way home, thanks to a security guard who recognized the hump under Mama's coat as a baby, we were allowed to enter the Reichstag through the disabled persons entrance thus bypassing a two hour queue of people to climb up to the new glass cuppola with a fantastic view over all the town! Then little Ella shared a four lady city night line train compartment, disqualifying all those comments passed behind our backs by fellow travellers: she did not cry once and had a wonderful sleep next to her Mama. Already she is on her best way to become a world traveller like her namesake.
