Does he snap or not?

Does he snap or does he not is the key question Uncle Adi asks when feeding Castor! Ella tested it, and now knows: He does NOT snap!

Bathing in the Cool Box

Having a bath in the cool box is just perfect for a baby - you can stand in it and always hold on to the sides, have a rest on the brim, and finally a good cuddle with Papa on an African Kanga! Especially for Nonna: Water all over her face is no more challenge for Ella!

On January 10th, an illustrious travelling group (as Ella's uncle Adi would call it) headed out to the tropical island of Bongoyo, just in front of the bay our house is located on. Ella enjoyed the day on the beach thoroughly, as you can see! Our house is the one to the right of the red fire tree, with the many roofs. We live in the left part of it. There live two more families in the middle and right part of it. We still believe to have the most beautiful house of all Dar es Salaam, and continue to thoroughly enjoy it.

Our friend and wedding witness Jackie introduced us recently into the Tanzanian baby stretching programme, five exercises regularely done every morning! It includes lifting the baby on its hands only - which Papa did straight away and Mama was terryfied to do - and more exercises in order to relax the baby should it ever fall! However, as you see, Ella loved this first introduction to multiculture immediately!

Ella's Best 20. January 2008 in Zanzibar

Jua Kali

Jua kali the Tanzanians say, le soleil mechant or an agressive sun! Papa is trying his best to protect little Ella from it, well wrapped in Tanzanian Kangas, her super stylish sunglasses always on and since latest Papas hat on her head, as the one Mama wore as a baby, she has grown out already! She is having her head already indeed!

Ella's Aya Lucy

Bloody hot

Dar es Salaam in January is bloody hot and Ella has only one piece of clothes left to clip her nuggi on...

...so heading off to the pool is by far the best option these days...

where in fact for steering her own boat Mama is not needed any more already!

Obviously, one can occupy an airplane seat in various ways...!

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing...

Strictly along the principle recommended by her godfather Phil that "life is either a daring adventure or nothing", Ella has been cross country skiing all December on the Jura plains in the North West of Switerland. Our new home in Tramelan, a loft in a former watch factory, is situated in the heart of this nature lovers' paradise. Ella criss crossed the place strapped on her Papa's belly on Norwegian cross country skis, frying sausages for lunch and always accompanied by the good old lad Castor. We greatly look forward to welcome more guests in this place!
